Politicians views on drug policy

You may have seen that the UKDPC have published a survey of MPs, MSPs and Members of the Welsh Assembly which asked them about current drug strategies.

The results can be downloaded here. The figure that caught my eye:

At least two thirds of politicians in each body agreed that the process of making policy about illegal drugs should make more use of evidence and research than it currently does.

This broke down by legislature as follows: MPs (76% agreed) and MSPs (70%) or AMs (67%).

As charity committed to evidence based ways of working this should be something we can find a way of using to increase the focus on evidence based programmes for schools and other settings.
