What’s it all about?

I’m trying to think about how we could present our understanding of what we’re trying to do as an organisation – not perhaps to all audiences, but to one which is trying to grasp what it is we’re about and how we go about justifying our work.

I was struck by a conversation at our recent board meeting that we’re changing as an organisation and that we’re trying to effect behaviour at a deeper level than just by talking about drugs and alcohol.

If you think about Families Together for example, we’re working with kinship carers and the children in their care, because we recognise they have risks that make them particularly vulnerable to substance misuse, and we’re trying to build family resilience so that those families can thrive.

Or That Can Be Me, where we recognise that some of the causes of drug and alcohol misuse come from young people becoming NEET, and that if we can help young people develop ways of delaying gratification and better attachment to school we may protect them from drug and alcohol harms.

So the Prezi below is my attempt to put some structure around these thoughts.  I’d be really interested to hear what you think and for ideas how we might improve my first attempts.
